Cochlear Implant Assessment

Home / Hearing Diagnostic / Cochlear Implant Assessment

A cochlear implant is a highly advanced medical device and the only technology that is capable of functionally restoring one of the best five senses – hearing !!

Cochlear implants provide an effective alternative to hearing aids because they don’t use amplification. Instead, they bypass the damaged part of the ear and use electrical stimulation to enable you to hear. Before surgery can be considered, your child will undergo thorough testing to assess their suitability for the procedure. If suitable, surgery will be arranged, followed by post-operative follow-up and auditory re/habilitation to ensure that they get the best results with their cochlear implants.

The philosophy of Auditory-Verbal Therapy (AVT) is for Cochlear Implanted / hearing aid fitted children to grow up in a regular learning environment, enabling them to become independent, participating, and contributing citizens in the mainstream society.
